Hitting the Restart Button at Embellishing Bliss!

It is all Fresh and New!

Have you ever wanted to hit the restart button?  To take an opportunity to start fresh and new? I am starting my 13th year in business with Embellishing Bliss in April and decided it was time to update my website and have a larger presence on social media. It might sound easy, but I have to tell you it is a bit (ok, a lot) overwhelming. So please be patient with me as begin this new journey of using social media for my business.

When I first started my business part-time in 2006, I loved the idea of creating memory keepsakes for people who have lost loved one or wanted to celebrate a special occasion like a graduation, baptism or wedding. Over the years, I have continued to do this, but also created a line of accessories including hats, scarves and mittens that I sold wholesale to over 30 retail stores in the Midwest from reclaimed textiles. I did art shows, taught classes, and whatever else people asked me to do in order keep my business going. In 2012, I started working at my church to help support my family in a more consistent way, since it is difficult to make a living as an artist.

Over the last 12 years, when I look back over all of the amazing things I have created, it brings me the most joy to know that I have designed memory keepsakes for people who were touched by them in a special way. I want to get back to doing more custom pieces for individuals who will cherish these special treasures.

My goal is to share a story on my blog each Friday that captures a special memory keepsake that I have created for a customer. My hope is that you will be inspired by these stories and at some point you will consider having something custom created out of a loved one’s clothing to honor, cherish and celebrate a special occasion.

Hopefully, if I can figure out the whole social media world, I will post on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.
